September 30th through October 2nd, 2011 some friends and I went to the Davis Mountains in West Texas to go camping!  We had a lot of fun.  One of the things we did was hike to the old Fort Davis.  Of course we geocached our way there!  Once there, we toured the museum and had a picnic lunch.  Then later that night, we all went to McDonald Observatory for a star party!  We saw Jupiter, two star clusters, the Andromeda galaxy, two different parts of the Moon, and a white dwarf with the remnants of what it used to be.  Speaking of stars, the night sky!  Oh wow, could we see a bunch of stars!  I haven't been able to see that many in a very very long time!  We could even see the Milky Way!  I don't know when we will be going camping next, but I hope it is soon!
